Welcome to Bowsy. These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your use of the Bowsy website, career assessment platform, and associated services (“Services”).

By accessing or using Bowsy, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, you should not use the Services.

1. About Bowsy

Bowsy provides an AI-powered career assessment platform designed to help students explore potential career paths, CAO courses, and apprenticeships based on their interests, skills, and preferences.

The Services are intended for guidance and informational purposes only.

2. Eligibility

By using the Services, you confirm that:

  • You are 16 years of age or older
  • You are a secondary school student in Ireland
  • You have the legal capacity to enter into these Terms

If you are under 18, you confirm that you have the consent of a parent or guardian to use the Services.

3. Nature of the Service

Bowsy provides AI-generated insights, recommendations, and career guidance tools, including an interactive chatbot (“Rian”).

You acknowledge that:

  • The Services do not constitute professional, educational, or career advice
  • Results are based on your responses and data models
  • Outputs are indicative and exploratory, not definitive

You agree to use the results as one input only, alongside advice from parents, teachers, and guidance counsellors.

4. User Responsibilities

You agree to:

  • Provide accurate and truthful information
  • Use the Services for personal, non-commercial purposes only
  • Not misuse, interfere with, or attempt to disrupt the platform
  • Not attempt to reverse engineer, copy, or exploit the platform or AI models

5. Data Protection and Privacy

Your use of the Services is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which explains how we collect, use, and protect your personal data in accordance with GDPR.

By using the Services, you consent to the processing of your data as described in the Privacy Policy.

6. Use of Data and Future Opportunities

Bowsy may, in the future, offer users the opportunity to be considered for employment, internships, or opportunities with third-party organisations, including employers.

  • Your personal data will not be shared with third parties for this purpose without your explicit consent
  • If such opportunities arise, you will be contacted and asked to opt in (e.g. “Would you like to be considered for opportunities with employers?”)
  • You are under no obligation to provide consent
  • Any such data sharing will comply fully with GDPR and applicable data protection laws

Bowsy may use anonymised and aggregated data to improve its services, models, and insights.

7. Intellectual Property

All content, technology, algorithms, assessments, and materials on the platform are the intellectual property of Bowsy or its licensors.

You may not:

  • Copy, reproduce, or distribute any part of the Services
  • Use the platform for commercial purposes without permission

8. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law:

  • Bowsy makes no guarantees regarding the accuracy, completeness, or suitability of any results or recommendations
  • Bowsy shall not be liable for any loss, damage, or consequences arising from:
    • Use of the Services
    • Reliance on assessment results
    • Educational, career, or financial decisions made

The Services are provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis.

9. Availability of Service

We aim to provide a reliable service but do not guarantee that:

  • The platform will always be available
  • The Services will be error-free or uninterrupted

We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Services at any time.

10. Third-Party Links and Services

The platform may include links to third-party websites or services (e.g. CAO information, course providers).

Bowsy is not responsible for the content, accuracy, or practices of third-party sites.

11. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Updated versions will be posted on this page with a revised date.

Your continued use of the Services constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

12. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Ireland. Any disputes arising from the use of the Services shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the Irish courts.
